Last weekend Ellie got to spend a few hours at Ada's house for her birthday party! The girls had a great time playing and swimming in the pool. At the end we had two very tired, but very happy 2 year olds!

Here is Ellie dancing on the front walk on her way to the car to head to daycare. She was hilarious this morning - picked out her entire outfit by herself. Then, on the drive over to daycare, she always tells us EVERYTHING that she see's. Green truck, yellow car, another green truck, stop sign, yellow triangle, and on and on. But today she told Brant twice to "turn left Daddy" and the scary part is that we were actually at intersections where we needed to turn left! Does she know what she's saying or is it just a coincidence? Then she saw a stop sign and proclaimed "stop sign - it's an octagon momma. It's an octagon." Wow - we haven't ever said that word to her. She's picking things up like a sponge these days!
The potty training seems to be going fairly well. At home she wears princess panties except during naps and night time. At daycare she wears Ariel pull ups (it is extremely important that they are Ariel...she says she doesn't like Cingrella pull ups anymore) but still tries to tell Jack and Cheryl before she has to go potty. She's doing really well telling them she has to go poopy on the potty, but each day has a couple of pee pee accidents. Considering that we've only been at this seriously for a week and a half, I think she's doing really well! We'll see what happens this weekend when we take her to Anaheim to stay at the Disneyland hotel and then she goes to Mimi and Papa's for 3 days.
I'm going to the National Safety Congress Council and Expo at the Anaheim Convention Center from Friday through next Thursday, and one of the hotels in the area is the Disneyland Hotel. Brant and Ellie are going to get to join me Friday through Sunday, then Brant will head back home to work and Ellie will go to Mimi's for a couple of days. She'll get to come back with me on Wednesday evening, then on Thursday Ellie and I will ride the Amtrack from Anaheim back down to San Diego. It should be quite the adventure! We're not going to take her to Disneyland (she doesn't even know what that is), because she's too small for almost everything. She'll get to see plenty of characters in and around the hotel, at the pool and on our adventures around town.
That's all for now - more to come for Brant's birthday post on Thursday!
