Seems like there just hasn't been enough time in the day to get everything done...including blogging...guess Rhett decided he had a solution to that. Get up at 4:20am and Mom will have plenty of time to update the blog! Ha! Good thing he's cute...
A couple of weeks ago Brant and I snuck off for a weekend alone to Palm Springs. It was glorious and relaxing! We drove out on Friday afternoon, checked into our hotel and walked around the "strip" to find a restaurant we wanted to try. We even branched out and had something other than Mexican!!! Friday night seemed to be karaoke night in most of the hot spots along the strip, which gave us some pretty good people watching opportunities. We retired early and got a great night of sleep...slept in until 7:15am (which as you can see from the beginning of this post really IS sleeping in for us!). Saturday we puttered around in the morning until it was time for our mineral soak and massages - part of the package we bought when we booked our rooms. Once we were sufficiently relaxed we got ready for dinner and headed out to a new restaurant, Fresh Agave Bar and Grill. We chose our destinations on this trip based off of Yelp reviews and those yelpers did not lead us astray! The food was great and the atmosphere was fun. We needed to walk a bit after dinner and did some window shopping on El Paseo Drive. Too bad the stores were already closed... Sunday we relaxed in the morning, then stopped by the outlet mall on the way back into town. A much needed break for the two of us - we really enjoyed it!
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Mimi was holding down the fort with the kiddos. Even with a broken bone in her foot! (yes, we offered to cancel our trip - yes, she insisted that we go) We did have to call in reinforcements on Saturday for Ellie's soccer game...Uncle Bill to the rescue! It's too hard for one person to watch Rhett at Ellie's soccer game...especially if that person only has one good foot! The kids had fun with Uncle Bill and enjoyed lunch at The Station after the game. I'm hoping to get more pictures from Mimi's camera to add to this post - I know she took quite a few!
A BIG thank you to Mimi for the break!
