Ellie visited Santa last weekend - this is the first year that she didn't cry. She marched right up to him and told him she would like a princess bicycle...

We're all officially on Christmas vacation! Brant and I are using some vacation time early this week to work on the house...we bought paint today (who knew how many different shades there are?) Brant prepped Ellie's room this evening and tomorrow while she is at daycare we'll be painting it - a Christmas present to her (that she doesn't even know how much she'll love!)
We had Christmas with Uncle Bill and Renee last Saturday night...Mimi and Papa joined of course. Ellie had so much fun - she got a playdough hamburger maker and kept herself busy all afternoon on Sunday making burgers with tomatoes, lettuce, pickles (though she calls it edamame), french fries, hot dogs and potato chips. I'm telling you the toys these days are so much fun!
Not much else to report - just getting last minute things done for Christmas. Trying to make sure we all get caught up on our sleep so we can enjoy the holiday to the fullest! Last night we took a walk to look at Christmas lights. There is one house in our neighborhood that goes all out - somewhat reminiscent of National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.

One of the funny things that Ellie does right now is "more". Everything she does, she wants to do "more". like when we pour her a cup of juice or milk, she has to watch...gets her head in there so close that oftentimes we can't even see what we're pouring into. Then, no matter whether you poured a little, half a glass or if the glass is almost overflowing, she'll say "just a little more please. thank you very much. That's right Mommy, just a little more" And of course - she gets just a little more. My favorite is when she says "I want hugs, noses and kisses, and then more" There's a very specific protocol for saying goodbye or goodnight...and don't think about leaving before she's gotten more!
Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season. Though we'll miss our family in Arkansas this week, we're making the most of our first Christmas in our new house!
