After a great day at the park, and a short nap, Mimi and Papa were here to visit. They had 2 tickets to the Padres game, so Brant and Jess headed to the game, making a stop at the Tin Fish on the way in. The Padres played (and lost to...) the Dodgers, and apparently the L.A. fans were crazy rowdy! They didn't really get it that if they stood up, no one behind them could see!
Mimi and I had the pleasure of hanging out with Ellie and Ada, since Ada's parents had a very fancy dinner "gala" to attend. These girls are a riot together. They spend all day, everyday, together at daycare, but are still THRILLED to see each other whenever the occasion arises. We all walked up to the neighborhood burger place - one of the greatest benefits of our neighborhood is the fact that we can walk to lots of neat places for coffee, ice cream, live music, breakfast, lunch or dinner. The hamburger place is called the Station Tavern, and it's got an old trolley car set up for the kiddo's to play in while they wait for their food, and while the adults relax and talk. When we got back, the girls got puzzles and Disney cups from Mimi - you can imagine the shrieking and giggling that ensued. The most impressive part, to me, is that they both automatically thanked Mimi. Profusely. Without prompting. That makes me such a proud mommy!

And here's the cutest picture of all...tonight after dinner, Brant was washing the dishes. Ellie walked up to him and said "Daddy, can I dry?" Of course you can!!! Everything that was plastic was dried by Ellie...I'm so glad she likes to help in the kitchen!
