Last day of daycare... *sniff, sniff*

Friday was Ellie's last day of daycare...she started at Jack and Cheryl's a little before she was 4 months old - at the end of July 2006. Fast forward 5 years and there we were...ready to move on. It's still completely surreal that she isn't at Jack and Cheryl's. Granted it's only been 2 days, but you know what I mean. Thank goodness Rhett is still there.

Ellie drew a picture for Jack and Cheryl...it was so much fun to watch her create her masterpiece. We went to Michaels for supplies last weekend and were stocked up on pastel card stock, colored pencils and Ellie's first Big Box of crayola crayons. Yes - the box with the crayon sharpener in the back (you should have seen her eyes when we opened it!). Ellie is...er...thorough, to say the least. Some might say a perfectionist...hopefully we can guide her through (and out of) this trait before it is her nemesis. No idea where she gets it from. She started out with a practice picture which was a good thing because Ellie realized she didn't know how to draw people with short hair. Only long hair. So mom got to draw Jack and Cheryl's hair. That was interesting...I'm a scientist - not an artist! I was wishing Brant was home to help with this instead. We got it done and she was so proud of it - here's a picture of her masterpiece!

We also gave Jack and Cheryl a picture frame with a bunch of pictures of Ellie in it - 5 years of Ellie. I tried taking a picture of it but the glare was too much. Instead, I'll share with you the photos themselves...

Unbelievable how time flies by...looking back at these pictures it seems like yesterday we were taking each one.

ps - isn't it crazy how much Ellie and Rhett look alike in the baby picture?
