La Jolla Cove

Last night we headed to downtown La Jolla for a break from the heat. It's been HOT here (for San Diego standards - I know it's laughable) and honestly, putting in air conditioning at home last year is the best investment we've made. We use it daily and have since mid-May. It makes us happy - I would be so sad to be without it again. Nonetheless, we headed to the coast for a cooler evening, ate dinner at Karl Strauss and walked to La Jolla Cove to see an amazing sunset. Ellie is busy being doted on at Mimi's for a few days, so it was just the three of us. (side note: why is it so much easier to do things with only one child? and why didn't it seem that way before we had a second child?)
Headed to Cups for dessert and enjoyed their amazing mini-cupcakes. Delicious. And grateful it's not closer to my house. That could be dangerous. A wonderful, vacation-esque evening in our own little town.
