Whoo-Hoo!

What a weekend! We didn't do much on Saturday other than chores, but on Sunday we more that made up for it! We got up and decided to go on a family walk through Torrey Pines State Reserve (poor Daisy couldn't go). But we had fun nonetheless. We parked at the top of the hill at the Torrey Pines Golf Course Driving Range Lot and walked down the hill, encouraging Ellie to stay in the stroller as much as possible (not entirely). When we got to to the bottom we veered off course and went down to the beach - she LOVES THE BEACH! I guess we're in luck since we currently live in San Digeo, but for a little girl who was terrified of the waves last summer she sure has changed her tune! She loved playing in the waves and sand and definitely didn't want to leave. We had a great time and promised her a return trip to the beach soon. On the way back up the dreaded hill we let Ellie get out and walk as she had been whining the whole way to get out of her stroller. We let her out near the top and she was really funny - Brant walked ahead to read a historic sign about some camp that was there during the war and Ellie walked up behind him. She folded her arms across her chest just like her daddy, then Brant said "humph" and Ellie said "humph" - it was hilarious...a little parrot.

We pleaded with her to get back in the stroller because we knew she was tired, but she is stubborn (don't where she gets it from) and wouldn't ride in the stroller. When we got back to the car and tried to put the stroller in the trunk she freaked out and said "NO - STROLLER MINE!!! BACK IN - ELLIE BACK IN!!!" We tried to let her back in for a minute but she wanted a long ride in the stroller and we decided it was worth listening to her scream and going home instead.
Luckily she quieted down within a few minutes...
