Julian Mining Company

Today we loaded up the family in the minivan and headed to Julian for a new adventure. First we stopped for lunch, and once everyone had a full tummy, we got some much needed rest before our big adventure.

We tried a new place this year - the Julian Mining Company, and it was, indeed, very different from the other pumpkin patches we have visited. It is a real and true pumpkin patch, while the "patches" from years past were dairy farms or nut farms with pumpkins. Their pumpkin patch was small and empty - for quite a while we were the only ones in the entire field of pumpkins! That gave us great opportunities for photos!

True to form, Rhett sampled everything he could get his hands on. He's quite the mover and shaker these days...rarely sitting still, largely bear crawling when outdoors, and putting everything that he picks up into his mouth. In hindsight, I probably should have put him in pants for this excursion, but I didn't think about that as it was 85degrees at our house when we left. At the end of November. Come on fall weather!

Ellie got a slew of compliments on her cowgirl outfit from Nana...especially her pink cowgirl boots!

After we chose our perfect pumpkins, we headed back into Julian for a warm slice of apple pie and a big scoop of vanilla ice cream!
