Ada turned 5 and had a super fun birthday party where Ellie got to see all of her daycare friends that she's been missing while at kindergarten. Here they are in line for the pinata!

Ellie has been adjusting to school really well. She loves her teacher, Mrs. Gentle, as do we. She's a perfect kindergarten teacher - not to young and not too old! She's extremely sweet, but has been around the block enough times to know the shenanigans to expect. We just completed the 4th week of school, and for the most part, I think the logistical bugs have been worked out. Kindergarten in San Diego is full day, 9:05a-3:40pm with no nap or rest period. Ellie's days at daycare and even YMCA camp were longer than that, but she wasn't expected to sit and listen and focus at those places. We tried sending her to before school care for a few days, but it just wasn't right for us. Luckily a little girl on Ellie's soccer team is also a kindergartener at McKinley, so the girls are before school buddies and it's been working out well for all. After school Ellie walks or scooters home with Michelle, her new babysitter. She was smitten with Michelle for the first couple of weeks, but we have seen this week that the honeymoon is over - she is testing Michelle with all her might. And Michelle is holding up strong. Yay Michelle!
