McKinley Variety Show

Ellie was in her first school variety show! We didn't really know what to expect, but it turns out it was quite like a talent show. I have to say I'm really happy they call it a variety show instead - has a more positive connotation in my opinion. Another behownefit to being in Mrs. Gentle's kindergarten class is that she is the only teacher that put together a short routine for her class to perform in the show. Ellie is also taking a Flamenco dance class afterschool on Thursdays, and that class also performed so she got to be in two numbers!

You'll notice that she's wearing a fancy yellow Flamenco skirt and in one of the pictures you can sort of see her Flamenco shoes (red with white polka dots and heels!)...there was quite a to-do over who was going to get which costume/dress. Lots of tears, prayers and nerves preceeded this grand event and my hope is that Ellie will remember how she felt before, and then, more importantly, how she felt afterwards. She was so proud of herself! *we are getting the official DVD from the school, so hopefully the hidden techie in me will be able to figure out how to edit her parts into a shorter movie and upload it. No promises though!*
