No-So-Small-Fry

Our big boy went to see Dr. Tami a few weeks ago. He's right on track developmentally, and growing into a not-so-small-guy. Rhett was 34" tall and 25lbs a week before he turned 17months old. He's walking, running, clapping, twirling, dancing and chatting up a storm. He, unlike Ellie, puts EVERYTHING in his mouth. It's quite different from his big sister who was super cautious. Rhett talks quite a bit and I can't wait to understand everything he's saying. Right now he says mama, daddy, Ellie (elwee), mimi, nana, thank you (ache you), ni ni,I want to tell you something (but it's all garbled together), all done (all do?), ball (ba), cheese (yeeze?)... and of course, the most important person in our family, Daisy! He loves that dog. If he gets the chance (meaning if we forget to close the gate) he goes straight to the back porch, opens the closet where Daisy's rawhide treats are, pulls the bag out, opens it, gets a treat out and then bangs on the back door until someone realizes he wants to give it to Daisy. He gives it to her, she takes it very gently (she's such a good dog), and then he cries because he doesn't have it anymore. Lather, rinse, repeat. He's a funny little guy and we're so glad he's ours!
Rhett still hasn't had his official first haircut, but last week at the South Park Spring Walkabout, he got his bangs trimmed by a pro (with real hair cutting scissors even...as opposed to his momma's kitchen scissors...) He didn't seem to mind too much!
