Ellie and Rhett must have been awfully good this year, because Santa sure was generous! Santa brought Ellie a kitchen, a bunch of play food, and a princess sleeping bag. Rhett got a spiffy new stroller, a rollercoaster bead thingie like they have at the doctor's office, and a teether. I'd say they lucked out!
Our tradition when in San Diego for Christmas morning is for Ellie to play with her presents from Santa until Mimi, Papa and Uncle Bill arrive. This year she made us breakfast sandwiches, salads and lots and lots of cups of tea! Once everyone arrives, we dig into the traditional Christmas Day breakfast casserole, fruit salad and PACKAGES!!! Both kids got plenty of thoughtful and generous gifts...here are pictures of our morning or at least as many as we could take without being painfully annoying...

It was a beautiful day - Brant, Billy and Ellie went to the park and played soccer with her new soccer ball and goal. And of course, the rest of the day was spent discovering new toys.
After dinner there was another surprise for Ellie - Ada and Milo came over! The girls shrieked with delight as usual. They BOTH got kitchen's from Santa, and believe it or not they were even the same model. That Santa is a smart guy... The Werner's were headed to Florida for a week, so Ellie is fish sitting. Dorothy the goldfish is staying with us for a week and we are enjoying watching her tricks. I'm not kidding either - about an hour after The Werner's left Dorothy in our care she started floating upside down. She was still swimming, but she was UPSIDE DOWN. We all know that is not normally a good thing... Great - even though I knew they wouldn't be upset if we had to make a quick trip to Petsmart to...er, replace Dorothy, I didn't want her to die on our watch! Evidently Ada has the most talented goldfish out there...she likes to float upside down often, and then she flips back over and swims off.
We are looking forward to a quiet week off of work, just spending time as a family. If we can pry Ellie away from her loot, we plan on just being tourists in our own town!
Thank you to everyone for all of the gifts - we are very grateful! Hope you all had a Merry Christmas!
